Lick Creek Park
I've been visiting Lick Creek Park since it was just a few random trails blazed by mountain bikers and day hikers (12 years now). I spent a few days last week visiting it again, a day with the family and a couple of days biking with Elvis and Katie. What an improvement! They have actual bridges across the creek now. No more fording or crossing the creaking planks on the old iron bridge. Pebble Creek even backs up to it now with a few not-so-affordable houses. There's a new paved parking lot and an official map of trails (see and click below). The main trail has a crushed rock surface so the inevitable floods after a hard rain don't effect your hike anymore. It's also nice for the dogs because you don't have to put them on a leash, unlike all of the other College Station parks. I believe the rule is that they have to be under "voice control". I'll leave the interpretation of that rule up to you. While testing my Google Search block, I found these links about Lick Creek Park.
